Nicole Isabelle is a New York City based artist, educator, and former dancer. Primarily a painter, she makes work about/in/with nature and landscape, as well as the human body as landscape. She also creates whimsical illustrations and experiments with collage, printmaking, sculpture, and installation art. Her recent painting series, Magic Leaf Paintings, integrate abstract watercolor painting layered with prints of gathered leaves. Nicole is passionate about color and gravitates toward highly saturated palettes. She is currently working on a series of artworks in which the markings on the paper are created solely by impressions of her body in motion.
